Dr. John Ahokas
Dr. Ahokas graduated First Class Standing from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree where he was awarded the Governor General’s Silver Academic Award. He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic, Magnum Cum Laude, at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2003. Since 2005, Dr. Ahokas has been practising in Orangeville working cooperatively with massage therapists in the clinic.
Since a young age, Dr. Ahokas has had a passion for skiing which led to him representing Canada at the 1999 World University Games in cross country skiing. Although no longer competing, John shares his passion for the sport by volunteering as a coach with the Mono Nordic Racing team since 2005 and as a co-head coach of the Guelph Gryphons Varsity Nordic Ski team from 2011-2014. He lives an active lifestyle and enjoys skiing, running, ultimate Frisbee and golf.
Dr. Ahokas’ interest in chiropractic began as a teenager after he received chiropractic care for a chronic low back problem that was preventing him from competing in cross country skiing. He found that regular treatment reduced his injury rate and allowed him to train and compete at a higher level.
Utilizing a patient centred approach for treatment, Dr. Ahokas incorporates his broad knowledge of spine, orthopedic and sports related disorders into his treatment and rehabilitation.
Dr. Ahokas is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, the Ontario Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association.
